Sunday February 1st: Winter drive: Groundhog Day edition

Here we are in the snow.P1000894(1) The thing about Ontario, it’s pretty flat. You don’t have to scale a mountain to be on the “Roof of Ontario”!P1000895(1)Update: weather looks promisingly wintry for the next week, so we are confirmed to go Sunday February 1st.

We will meet at 10:30 AM at Tim Horton’s in Shelburne. It’s 800 Main St. West, at the corner of Highway 9/10 and County Road 124 (neé Highwaty 24) at the west end of Shelburne. Depart on the drive at 11 AM sharp. See you there. Bring your snow tires!

See the event listing for map.

By popular demand, the Saab Club will be reprising the Winter Drive. It will take place on either the first or second Sunday in February–the 1st or 8th.  Please stay tuned–we need to watch the forecast, which currently goes out to Thursday (and do you trust it anyway?). I’d love to wait until we know what Wiarton Willie predicts, but that’s a little too late. Masybe I’ll take my Saab out to a field this weekend and see if it sees its own shadow.

We’re surely going to have less wintry weather than last year. Hopefully there will still be plenty of snow on the roads in early February.
