On behalf of the members, the Directors and Officers, welcome to the Saab Club of Canada!
This club was started in 1978 when new owners found themselves wanting to be involved with the maintenance of their then, new to Canada, Saab automobiles. Since that time, the club has undergone several evolutions. While there still are owners (members or otherwise) that attempt to maintain their Saabs themselves, the club has taken on more of a social aspect. Our social events are inclusive and suitable for all family members. Know someone with a Saab who doesn’t belong to the club? Invite them to join us at any time!
Without any doubt, the club is still well connected with the various Saab specialty shops around Ontario and throughout Canada as well as sources around the world for parts.
Today, the club meets regularly. We try to keep the calendars on our web site and Facebook pages up to date. E-mail notifications are also sent out in efforts to keep the members informed of upcoming events.
In the past, our events have included the Annual Winery Tour and Picnic Lunch (usually towards the end of June, beginning of July) and a Fall Colours Tour (end of September, beginning of October depending on Mother Nature).
This club is what you want it to be. We are always looking for new members. We are also always looking for help running the club and the events. If you want to take an active role or simply have a single idea, we’d like to hear from you. Please don’t be shy. Our Directors are always available and can easily be reached via e-mail (some make their phone numbers available as well). Speak up, let us know what you would like to see in the club, what you would like to do.
Typically, our AGM is held in April each year. At this time, every position becomes vacated and become “available”. If you would like to be more involved, this would be the time to step forward. Even if you are brand new to the club, feel free to get involved.
