The Saab Club of Canada will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, September 17. The location will be William Scott Park in New Hamburg, Ontario, and the AGM itself will start at 12:30 PM (EDT). While we hope that the weather will be fine, we do have an alternate, sheltered location planned, and it is detailed in the attached Notice. As we get closer to the AGM, the weather forecasts will determine if we may or will have to shift.
Note that we will have a pre-meeting visit to an artisanal cheese factory. Meet at 11 AM at the recreational complex at the north-east corner of Highway 7/8 and County Rd 5/Nafziger Rd, just west of Kitchener-Waterloo. We will drive as a group to the cheese factory, and from the cheese factory, we will drive together to the park for the AGM. We encourage everyone to come for this pre-meeting event.
While all are welcome to attend the AGM, only those with a paid membership as of September 17 count towards quorum, and are able to vote on any motions.
The AGM is an important part of the Club’s operations and governance. The Club’s past year will be reviewed, and members of the Board of Directors, as well as the Vice President, will be elected/confirmed by the Club members present (or through proxy). Questions from members are welcome at the AGM. We have had good turnouts and discussions at recent AGMs. Please join us for this one.
And once the AGM is done, those who are interested can join us at the “Scran and Dram,” a Scottish public house for more food and refreshments, to celebrate another year for the Saab Club of Canada!
