The Saab Club of Canada’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be on Saturday, September 12. It is open to all Club members. In addition to reviewing the Club’s financial information and past activities, nominations and elections take place.
The Notice to Members has been distributed to all members via email and includes further details, including a proxy ballot if you are unable to attend in person.
This year we have at least one vacancy for the Board of Directors. Martin Wojtowicz is stepping back from his role as Director. The Club thanks Martin for his long service in various roles for the club. If you are interested in helping serve the Club in an elected position, please contact our Nominations Chair, Trevor McAlpine. His contact information is on the attached Notice.
We will meet at 11:30 at the McDonald’s parking lot at the corner of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue. The address of the McDonald’s is 2965 Eglinton Ave. W., Mississauga. We will take a scenic drive through late-summer farmland, some twisty valley roads, and will get some nice Niagara Escarpment views along the way. The drive will take less than an hour.
Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions, and to insure a safe AGM, the business meeting will be held in an open air facility with room for social distancing. Lowville Park, a scenic and large park with picnic areas and washroom facilities was chosen for its good location at the end of the drive. However, we may have to relocate the business meeting, as the park is scheduled for upgrades in the coming week that may impact parking spaces. Alternates will have been scouted beforehand.
In light of this, members should convene at the start of the drive, at 11:30 so we can all go in a group to the location of the business meeting. Any members who wish to attend the business part of the AGM, but are unable to take part in the drive, should contact the Club ([email protected]) in advance, so that any changes in location can be communicated in time.
