Junkyard Exploration 8:25am to 1 pm: All those who are interested in checking out a pull-your-own-parts junkyard are invited to join us for a trip to Cookstown Auto Wreckers. As of late May, Cookstown had approximately ten 9-3 Sport Sedans, model years 2004-2007. At least one V6 Aero, but no convertibles, wagons, or other Saab models. However, stock changes regularly so you don’t know what you’ll find until you go there. Meet for breakfast at Ikea Etobicoke at 8:25 sharp, or at 9:30 when we head out. For anyone wanting to meet us at the yard, we will be there between 10:15 and 10:30 AM, depending on Highway 400 traffic. It is around a 135km round-trip. Limited car-pooling/ride-sharing will be available (organizer can take 1-3 passengers in a 9-5). Return to the Driveway Tech Session by 1 PM (yard closes at noon).
Driveway Tech Session 12 pm – 4 pm: This is the kind of thing the club used to do more of in the early years (70’s and 80’s). We will be demonstrating some basic Saab repairs and maintenance tasks. We will also have the club’s Tech II on hand for those members interested in learning more about it. BBQ lunch will be provided at around 1pm (meat and veggie burgers and pop).
